New government, same story. Labour is on course to win – yet another party green-lighting genocide. Our political system is broken to its core. We need to unite and find a fix together.
What Next?
Assemble is holding Assemblies for Palestine on Saturday 3rd August – after the national marches.
We all know nothing is going to change. New colour ties, same old lies. Labour continue with their empty words on Gaza while Palestinians are murdered.
They think they’re untouchable. But we don’t have to accept this.
People all around the world know what to do: stand for freedom, justice, equality and peace.
Let’s create a new movement of movements and do the only thing that makes sense…
Bin fake democracy and change the system for good.
On August 3rd, all are invited to the Assembly for Palestine, where we’ll decide the next steps towards liberation together. Each Palestine Assembly around the country will deliberate on the same questions, and the answers will be fed into the agenda for the launch event of the House Of The People August 11th. All are invited.
Assemblies are gatherings where people get together and start making decisions. They can be with neighbours, talking about local and national issues. They can be in city parks, deciding what the UK must do for Palestine. And they can be legally binding bodies, like the House of the People we are building – a genuinely democratic antidote to a corrupt Parliament. Together we rebuild politics.
Assemblies give a home to the voice of the people who are locked out of the system.
We cannot sit and wait for this new government to deliver justice. This is something government in its current form was never designed to do.

After the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) National March For Palestine, which ends at Downing Street at 4:30pm, march on with us to St James’ Park (SW1A 2BJ) to discuss and plan what to do for Gaza. The Assembly for Palestine will start from 4.30pm.
All are welcome
Please read out so everyone can hear:
Welcome to an Assembly on Palestine. For the next 30 minutes, everyone in our group will be given a chance to introduce ourselves and share what’s brought us here today. We will then discuss what we want to see happening – and commit to doing things together after today. It’s about listening and being listened to. We are all here to respect each other.
STEP 1
Go around and say hello to each-other! One at a time, someone starts off and speaks for 2 minutes max on who you are, what your background is and why you came to the march today. Then pass onto the person on your right and they do the same thing. No interruptions please!
STEP 2
Now let’s go around again and hear from everyone, like before. This time the question is ‘What do you want to see happen and how do you think we could leverage that demand?’ You can say 2 or 3 big things that come to mind – maybe something that we could collectively organise nationally, and something more local. You don’t have to cover everything. We’ll have around 2-3 minutes each to speak each.
STEP 3
After everyone is finished, Have an open discussion about the ideas and see if we can find agreement on the 3 or 4 concrete policies/demands that have come up.
Submit them in the text box below.
STEP 4
The results will feed into a House of the People – a new home for the collective voice of the nation. This permanent citizens’ assembly is being launched on July 17th on the same day that the new Parliament is sworn in.
